  • Upon receiving these funds, Helene will forward to you confirmation of receipt and your reservation. Helene will enclose hotel details, an itinerary, list of equipment and suggested paints. You will then be informed when the full balance for your workshop needs to be settled (normally 4 weeks before commencement-failure to pay by the due date could involve the place being re-offered).

Booking conditions

The deposit of £100 per person, which should accompany your booking form, is non-refundable unless we cancel the workshop. If you book the workshop less than 4 weeks before the commencement date, the full amount is payable immediately.

Changing your workshop
Should you wish to change your workshop to another workshop before the final payment period, a charge of £35 per person will apply to cover administration costs.

Cancellation
Should you wish to cancel your holiday after your booking has been confirmed you should write to Helene. Cancellation charges apply as follows; up to 4 weeks before the start of the workshop – deposit only, less than 4 weeks before – full fee.
We strongly advise you to make sure cancellation is included in your travel insurance.

Minimum number of clients
4 clients is the minimum number for the workshops to go ahead. In the event of having to cancel through insufficient numbers, Helene will let you know at least 4 weeks in advance and offer you an alternative workshop. If the alternative does not suit you all monies will be repaid in full.

Insurance
Helene has public liability Insurance. In addition we very strongly advise you to take out insurance for the duration of your workshop in respect of cancellation and curtailment, injury, death, medical expenses, theft etc. Participants attend workshops only on the understanding they have taken out their own travel insurance.

Safety
Being on foot in the Lake District inevitably involves potential hazards and by its nature participants to the workshop must accept an element of risk. Helene has ensured that only limited walking is required from the car park and has made every effort to ensure safety by choosing painting locations, which don’t go very far from paths.

Medical conditions
Please let Helene know, in confidence, of any conditions from which you suffer which may affect your safety in remote areas, such as vertigo and diabetes. Please consult your doctor if in any doubt.

Liability
Helene and Lakelander Arts will not be liable for any injury, loss, damage or expense resulting from force majeur or any unforeseen circumstance beyond our control. Helene and Lakelander Arts will only be liable for loss or damage caused by our negligence.
