A two day weekend workshop based at the Waterhead Hotel in a beautiful location at the northern edge of Lake Coniston.
This workshop involves pencil sketchbook work where you will be encouraged to look at the smaller details such as the bark of a tree or the play of light on grass as well as using weight of line to accurately portray a sense of depth in a landscape drawing.
Watercolour techniques will also be shown such as how to effectively achieve a sense of depth and light but the student will always be encouraged to develop and find their own style.
Our two stunning locations will be at Yew Tree Farm, the stand in for Beatrix Potter’s house in the film Miss Potter as well as Tarn Hows which displays every conceivable scenery and is a perfect artist’s playground!.
Heléne will give demonstrations and constant supervision to the group of no larger than 12 artists, 10 – 6pm and 9:30 – 4pm. Some walking will be required on undulating ground but mostly any walking will be a short distance from the car park. Students must have their own travel insurance to suit before attending the course.
You will be encouraged to work at your own pace and relax and enjoy the workshop and all abilities can be catered for.
Included; accommodation (dinner, B&B), tuition, 1 x packed lunch, waterpots, palettes, brollies/sun-shades, stools, some easels (please enquire)
Not included; transport to locations, parking fees (approx £5/day), 1 lunch (we use the cafe at Yew Tree on Saturday), materials, extra refreshments.
