A three day workshop based at the Eskdale Gate House, a stunning ‘Outward Bound’ property within its own grounds hidden in Eskdale green.

This workshop involves pencil sketchbook work where you will be encouraged to work within the gardens of the Gate House and draw the bark of a tree or the play of light on grass as well as using weight of line to accurately portray the gorgeous views around the property.

Watercolour techniques will also be shown such as how to effectively achieve a sense of depth and light but the student will always be encouraged to develop their own style and work at their own pace.

We will be mostly based within the huge grounds of the Gate House which not only has beautiful gardens but it’s own small lake with the advantage of being able to work inside if it rains.

The stunning location of Wastwater (Britain’s favourite view) is only a 15 minute drive away and could be visited if the group would like to travel in their own cars.

Heléne will give demonstrations and constant supervision to the group of no larger than 12 artists.

Students must have appropriate travel insurance cover before attending.

You will be encouraged to work at your own pace, soak up the views and relax and enjoy the workshop. All abilities can be catered for.

Included; accommodation (dinner, B&B, lunch, tea & biscuits), tuition, indoor facility, Drawing boards, stools, some easels (please enquire)

Not included;  materials, transport (if we decide to visit Wastwater)
